These skill sets are becoming cornerstones of a competitive workforce.

The Emergence of New Job Roles

As the implementation of GenAI technologies accelerates, nearly 90% of business leaders agree that these innovations will generate new job opportunities. Furthermore, a substantial 92% acknowledge that existing roles will be redefined through the introduction of GenAI.

In line with this transformation, 62% of business leaders are actively seeking to fill positions related to GenAI. The roles in demand include qualitative data analysts (23%), content creators (23%), developers (22%), digital marketers (22%), and social media managers (21%).

Challenges in Adopting GenAI Technologies

However, the shift towards adopting GenAI is not without challenges. Over 80% of business leaders express concern that their organizations may fall behind if they fail to embrace these technologies. They highlight skills gaps (52%), the need for digital fluency (50%), and the transition of workers to more valuable roles (49%) as significant obstacles to successful integration.

Motivated by the potential for increased productivity (54%), cultivating a future-ready workforce (47%), and driving business growth (46%), 86% of business leaders are eager to provide training in GenAI. Other compelling reasons include fostering a culture of learning and innovation (44%) and keeping pace with industry developments (40%).

Business leaders are particularly interested in training their teams in key areas like data analysis and insights (35%), data modeling (30%), digital marketing and advertising (27%), content creation (25%), and strategic planning and decision-making (25%).

The Need for Core and Transferable Skills

While nearly all leaders (98%) acknowledge the transferability of GenAI skills across various roles and sectors, they also emphasize the importance of core skills. Essential competencies include digital fluency (41%), creative thinking (36%), systems thinking (35%), design thinking (34%), and problem-solving (32%) to prepare employees for a GenAI-enhanced workplace.
