Unlocking Productivity with GenAI Integration

Recent research by Boomi™, a leader in intelligent integration and automation, reveals that leveraging Generative AI (GenAI) can significantly enhance productivity and revenue. The findings, part of the Boomi Discovery Report conducted by 451 Research, reflect insights from 650 IT and business leaders across various sectors.

As companies face increasing digital fragmentation—from application overload to departmental silos—GenAI offers a path to more streamlined and cost-effective operations. However, its benefits are most evident for organizations ready to make that leap.

The Impact of GenAI on Integration Efforts

The Boomi Discovery Report highlights that over half of the surveyed executives (55%) recognize the importance of GenAI in achieving seamless integration of data, applications, and processes. Key factors driving AI adoption include enhanced productivity, cited by 44% of respondents, along with sales growth (40%) and improved customer experiences (39%).

Despite its potential, respondents also pointed out integration challenges, such as security and privacy concerns (42%) and issues with data quality (42%). Interestingly, 90% believe that GenAI can enhance the speed and quality of their integration efforts.

Trust and Value in GenAI Among Leaders

The report also indicates a disparity in trust between IT and business leaders regarding GenAI. While 82% of IT CxOs “completely” or “somewhat” trust GenAI outputs, only 63% of their business counterparts share this confidence. Major drivers of trust include accuracy (cited by 57%) and consistency (48%) of AI-generated outcomes.

Enterprise executives find immense value in GenAI, highlighting benefits such as increased process accuracy (38%), reduced costs (38%), and fostered innovation (34%). Virtually all leaders agree that GenAI-assisted integration can be beneficial across various integration types.

Challenges of Integration and Automation

According to Matt McLarty, CTO at Boomi, effective integration and automation strategies are crucial for achieving business agility. While these processes can prove daunting, a unified approach utilizing AI can simplify complexities.

“With AI technology at play, businesses can streamline their integration and automation initiatives, allowing IT teams to focus on innovation,” McLarty states.
