Custom GPTs are a step in the opposite direction to AGI

Hopefully, sooner or later, people will realise that the current question-answer approach of custom GPTs and LLMs is not exactly the way to achieve AGI (artificial general intelligence).

Asking a machine questions and getting answers has more to do with the traditional database approach than with real intelligence. In fact, the whole "prompt engineering" thing is the exact opposite of AGI.

Why? Because AGI should be about anticipating your problems, being willing to explore new ways of delivering value, being able to train itself out of curiosity, learning from mistakes, etc.

You don't interact with other intelligent beings by giving them the information you want to get from them. In fact, you don't want content or information from other intelligences. You want original and valuable approaches and ideas.

All this implies that the machine has at least some very basic feelings and emotions. It is a very interesting philosophical idea, but we are not even close to solving it technically.

Get back to basics: think of AI as a tool. It can and will help with some specific tasks. It will make your business more productive if used correctly. Who needs anything else?
